This year has been another great year for gaming. It’s brought us more mainstream and inclusive games that have gotten even more people gaming. This list includes everything, we’ve got: adventure, mobile games, explosions, slots tournaments, card games and all of them are amazing.
- 6) Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
If you missed out on playing the most cinematic, blockbuster AAA experiences of the year then you should really drop everything and go check out Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Closing the story of treasure hunter Nathan Drake, Uncharted 4 is superb from start to finish. Players don’t need to have completed Uncharted 1-3 in order to enjoy this conclusion to the series, but fans of the previous games will enjoy all the nods to Nathan’s previous adventures. It is, unfortunately, a PlayStation 4 exclusive so you can be forgiven if you have been unable to play this masterpiece.
- 5) Overwatch
Blizzard – the creators of the super massive World of Warcraft, Diablo and Hearthstone games – have done it again. They’ve created an excellent shooter that isn’t quite like any other. Whether you have an Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or a PC; you can enjoy Overwatch. Grab some buddies and shoot your way through an enormous roster of characters with brilliant powers. You laugh, you’ll cry and maybe, just maybe, you’ll get the play of the match.
- 4) Duelyst
I feel like everywhere I go I am raving about Duelyst lately. It is a digital card game similar to the incredibly popular Hearthstone, but with a twist. Like Hearthstone players collect cards, build decks and battle one another. Where Duelyst differs is that everything plays out on a 9×5 grid. This radically alters how you play and makes it incredibly fun. Currently, it is only on PC but there is an Android and iOS app in development. Get in on the ground floor of this one guy because once that app hits this game is going finally reach the masses it deserves.
- 3) Coral Slots Tournament
It’s not just video games that you should have played this year, but also Coral’s slots tournament. Coral’s new slots tournament could be your solution to affording anything on this list that you’ve not had the chance to play.
- 2) Clash Royale
The follow-up game to the massively popular Clash of Clans by Supercell; Clash Royale is unlike any other mobile game you have ever played. Taking characters from Clash Royale and repurposing them is great for any Clash of Clans veterans. In Clash Royale you don’t have a village to build – only battles to wage. By crafting a team of characters you enter battles against an opponent and try to destroy their towers before finally toppling their King. If you enjoy attacking in Clash of Clans, but find the village building a bit boring then you should definitely give Clash Royale a try. It’s free after all.
- 1) Pokemon Go!
If you have managed to own a smartphone in 2016 and haven’t played Pokemon Go then I’m not really sure what’s happened. This game exploded on launch and had millions of people wandering the streets hunting down and capturing Pokemon with their phones. With the original cast of Pokemon to catch, gyms to conquer and training to be the strongest, Pokemon Go has enough to keep you busy (and fit!) for a very long time.
